An Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine

This 4-hour experiential workshop introduces massage therapy students and bodywork practitioners to Traditional Chinese Medicine through its most essential skill: observation. Rather than focusing on diagnosis or theory, participants learn to slow down, observe, and describe what they see and feel using neutral, non-interpretive language.

Through guided practice, students will explore tongue observation, facial and postural cues, and pulse feeling as rhythm and texture. The workshop emphasizes sensory awareness and pattern recognition, offering an accessible entry point into TCM while removing performance pressure. Participants will also begin creating a personal TCM word bank to support future studies, including TCM 1.

Level: Introductory / Experiential
