Health and Safety Guidelines for École Setsuko

At École Setsuko, the health and safety of our students, staff, and clients are our top priority. We are committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for everyone. Please review and adhere to the following guidelines:

1. General Hygiene Practices

  • Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer upon entering the school, before and after touching shared equipment, and after using the restroom.
  • Personal Hygiene: Ensure you arrive clean and wear freshly laundered clothing. Avoid wearing perfumes or strong scents. Nails should be clipped and filed and scrubbed with a nail brush. 

2. Facility Cleanliness

  • Treatment Rooms: High-touch surfaces (e.g., doorknobs, light switches, massage tables, bolsters, and other equipment) are disinfected after each use.
  • Shared Spaces: Classrooms, bathrooms, and lounges are cleaned and restocked regularly.

3. Health Screening

  • Symptom Check: Do not attend classes or clinics if you feel unwell or exhibit symptoms of illness (e.g., fever, cough, sore throat, or fatigue).
  • Reporting Illness: Notify the administration if you test positive for a communicable disease.

5. Sanitation During Classes and Clinics

    • Equipment Use: Sanitize hands before and after handling tools, massage oils, or lotions. Clean equipment thoroughly after use.
    • Linens: Use freshly laundered linens for each client. Place used linens in designated laundry bins immediately after sessions.
  • Hand Washing: wash hands with soap and warm water immediately after each session. Do not touch walls or any surfaces. 

7. Emergency Procedures

  • First Aid: First aid kits are available on-site. Notify staff immediately in the event of an injury.
  • Evacuation: Follow staff instructions during fire drills or other emergencies.

8. Food and Beverage Guidelines

  • Shared Spaces: Consume food and drinks in designated areas only. Dispose of waste in appropriate bins.
  • Allergies: Be mindful of food allergies; avoid bringing items containing common allergens like peanuts unless confirmed safe.

9. Client Interaction (Clinics)

  • Health History: Review client intake forms thoroughly to ensure safety during treatments.
  • Consent: Obtain informed consent before starting any treatment.
  • Communication: Encourage open dialogue to address any discomfort or concerns during sessions.

10. Mental Health and Well-being

  • Support: Reach out to staff or administration for resources if you feel overwhelmed or stressed.
  • Breaks: Take regular breaks during long sessions to prevent fatigue.

11. Compliance and Updates

  • Adherence: All students and staff are required to comply with these guidelines.
  • Updates: Guidelines will be reviewed and updated regularly to align with public health recommendations.
