Structural Myofascial Therapy® Certificate Program
Structural Myofascial Therapy® (SMFT) Certificate Program
Go beyond learning techniques. Learn how to assess, understand and work with the body as a whole.
Structural Myofascial Therapy® is an advanced approach to bodywork that looks beyond the area where a client feels discomfort and considers the relationships between fascia, posture, movement and the body’s overall structure.
The Structural Myofascial Therapy® Certificate Program is designed for experienced massage and bodywork professionals who want to take that understanding further.
This is more than a series of weekend workshops.
Students enrolled in the full Certificate Program move through a progressive learning experience that combines three levels of hands-on SMFT training, online follow-up sessions, dedicated practicums and supervised clinical case studies.
The goal is not simply to learn more techniques. It is to give you the time, practice and guidance needed to understand when, why and how to use them in your own clinical practice.
What is Structural Myofascial Therapy®?
Fascia is the connective tissue network that surrounds and connects muscles, bones, joints and other structures throughout the body.
Because this network is interconnected, what we see or feel in one area of the body may be influenced by patterns elsewhere.
Structural Myofascial Therapy® teaches therapists to look at those relationships.
Through hands-on fascial techniques, Postural Somatic Awareness (PSA), body reading and movement observation, students develop a broader understanding of structural patterns and learn how to approach their work with greater intention and specificity.
As you progress through the program, the focus moves from establishing a strong foundation in fascial work to increasingly specific and advanced techniques.
Certificate Student Tuition: $4,122.50
You save $727.50 by enrolling in the complete certification program.
But the real value of enrolling in the certificate isn’t simply the savings.
Certificate students receive the complete educational pathway—including the follow-up sessions, practicums and supervised clinical experience designed to help take what you learn in class and turn it into skills you can confidently use in practice.
The Full SMFT® Certification Experience
One of the most important parts of learning advanced manual therapy is what happens after you leave the classroom.
You try the techniques. You work with different bodies. You start noticing things you didn’t notice before. And inevitably, you have questions.
That is why the SMFT® Certificate Program doesn’t end when each weekend workshop is over.
Certificate students continue their learning through Zoom check-ins, hands-on practicums and supervised clinical work, giving them opportunities to revisit the material, refine their techniques and build confidence as they progress.
Your certification includes:
Introduction to Structural Myofascial Therapy®
Begin with an introduction to the concepts and principles behind Structural Myofascial Therapy®.
SMFT® Level 1 – Connecting with the Fascia
Develop your foundation in full-body myofascial work, fascial anatomy, Postural Somatic Awareness (PSA), body reading, therapist mechanics and techniques designed to improve tissue plasticity.
Level 1 Online Zoom Check-In
Reconnect after the course to review your experience, ask questions and reinforce what you have been practising.
Level 1 Practicum
Return to the classroom for dedicated hands-on practice and refinement of your Level 1 skills.
SMFT® Level 2 – Creating Specificity
Build upon your Level 1 foundation with increasingly targeted techniques for the back, legs, hips, feet, psoas and pelvic region. You’ll also explore dural balancing, advanced PSA and more specific approaches to supporting structure and posture.
